KEiiNO
KEiiNO is a Norwegian-Sami supergroup whose music is a testament to the beauty of diversity and cultural richness. Their unique fusion of uplifting pop, dance, electro and joik (traditional Sámi singing) is a breath of fresh air in the music industry, showcasing a sound that is inclusive and inspiring altogether. Fred, Tom and Alexandra’s infectious positivity and warm spirit combined with lyrics which explore themes of identity, culture, and belonging makes KEiiNO a band that spreads love and acceptance wherever they go.
The band’s journey began in 2018, when singer/songwriter Tom Hugo joined forces with the Sami rapper Fred Buljo and pop singer Alexandra Rotan. Their single “Spirit in the Sky” was an instant sensation, they won the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix and the 200 mill TV-viewers of Eurovison Song Contest placed them at #1. However, the jurys’ points made them finish 6th. Nevertheless, “Spirit in the Sky” made it to #1 on the Norwegian sales-charts, reached #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral Chart and charted in multiple countries (#66 in the UK).
