Ijahis idjan ohjelma on julkaistu

The indigenous people’s music festival, Ijahis idja, has published its program. The festival will be held in Inari/Anár on August 14th. This year’s Ijahis idja festival lasts a day but as in previous years, the program is again vast and versatile. Besides music there will be also Sámi sport competition, program for the youngsters, handicraft market and as a newness, pop up workshops.

Festival area opens on Saturday August 14th at 2p.m. At the same time opens the Ijahis idja handicraft market, where you will be able to purchase handicrafts from all over Sápmi. At the youth concert you will experience the newest Sámi music, when Láhppon and Kootkmiõhtt and others take the stage! Anára Sámisearvi organises a lasso throwing competition where you can put your lasso hand to test at the Sajos ground.

If your lasso throwing needs pracitce, the lasso throwing basics -pop up workshop is for you. There you will be able to sharpen your skills with a professional guide. There are also workshops espacially for kids and youth and you have the possibility to paint graffiti with the Sámi Hustler.
The first concert of the night is U´lljan & Saauj Cool Band, which released their debut album last summer. Ozas and Yungmiqu will also perform their first Ijahis idja shows on the main stage. Traditional yoik will also be heard when Niiles-Jouni Aikio, Bigga Aikio ja Laura Tapiola get on stage. The last concerts of the night are by the big stars of Sápmi, Jon Henrik Fjällgren and the giants of Sámi rap, Ailu Valle and Amoc, whose collaborative album is due to realese this year. On stage they are joined by the Trio Boogiemen.

The festival will inform about the ticket sales separately. Tickets will be sold beforehand and at the gate.

Ijahis idja is organised by Anára Sámisearvi ry, Sámi parliament, Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos, Saamelaisalueen koulutuskeskus and Inarin municipality.
