Ijahis idja indigenous peoples’ festival is organized on 14th August 2021. This year the event is one-day.

Jon Henrik Fjällgren as a star performer

Jon Henrik Fjällgren is one of the headliners this year. Fjällgren became famous after winning the “Talang Sverige”, the Swedish version of Got Talent competition. Afterwards he has participated three times in “Melodifestivalen” contest which is Swedish preliminary for Eurovision Song Contest. He gained second, third and fourth position. Fjällgren has released three albums. Latest single Hold my head up high was released in March 2021. In addition to music, he won Swedish Let’s Dance competition in 2018. Jon Henrik Fjällgren has performed once before in Ijahis idja back in 2015.

Type of the festival remains open

The primary plan is to organize the event with live audience on 14th of August in Inari. At the same time, we are looking into alternative ways to organize the event such as virtual festival. We will give out further info during June.

Ijahis idja festival is organized in collaboration by Anára Sámisearvi ry, The Sámi Parliament in Finland, Sámi Cultural Centre Sajos, Cafe Čaiju, Sámi education centre, Sámi Museum Siida and Yle Sápmi.
